Tim Lincecum allowed one run and three hits over six innings, and the San Francisco Giants stretched their winning streak to four games with a 6-1 victory over the host San Diego Padres on Friday.
Andres Torres had three hits, two RBIs and scored three times as San Francisco increased its lead in the National League West to 4 1/2 games over Arizona.
Lincecum (8-7) struck out seven and walked three to help send San Diego to its season-worst seventh straight loss.
Torres had a run-scoring single in the fifth and an RBI double in the seventh.
Pablo Sandoval, whose 22-game hitting streak came to an end, had a sacrifice fly in the first and Cody Ross’ leadoff homer in the second gave the Giants an early 2-0 lead.
San Diego manufactured a run in the fourth when Alberto Gonzalez walked and moved to third on back-to-back wild pitches by Lincecum, and scored on Orlando Hudson’s infield out.
San Francisco relievers Jeremy Affeldt, Sergio Romo and Guillermo Mota combined for three scoreless innings of one-hit relief.
Padres starter Dustin Moseley (2-9) gave up four runs and seven hits in six innings.
