Scott Rolen drove in three runs and the visiting Cincinnati Reds beat the Los Angeles Dodgers 7-2 on Wednesday to complete their first three-game sweep in Los Angeles since 2004.
Rolen had two run-scoring doubles for the Reds, who jumped on Chad Billingsley (5-6) for seven runs in the first four innings.
Travis Wood (5-4) earned the win after giving up one run on five hits and five walks on 114 pitches over six innings. The Reds’ starting pitchers have gone at least six innings in 10 straight starts.
Cincinnati left fielder Jonny Gomes provided the game’s top defensive play when he robbed James Loney of extra bases with a diving catch near the left-field foul line to end the third inning.
Fred Lewis and Ryan Hanigan added two RBIs apiece for the Reds, who have won seven of their last 10 games.
After giving up six runs on a career-high 13 hits in his last start, Billingsley allowed nine hits and four walks against the Reds. He entered the game with the National League’s sixth-lowest home ERA at 1.71.
