Brian Wilson, who gave up five runs in his first two outings, struck out the side in the ninth inning to earn his first save.
The Dodgers took a 3-0 lead in the top of the fourth on a run-scoring double by Matt Kemp, an error by first baseman Brandon Belt off the bat of James Loney and a double by Juan Uribe.
The Giants answered with two runs in the bottom half of the inning, and scored two more in the fifth on RBI singles by Rowand and Buster Posey.

Hawksworth (1-1) allowed one run in two innings.
The anticipated pitchers' duel between Tim Lincecom and Chad Billingsley never materialized as Lincecum allowed three runs on six hits in 5 1/3 innings and Billingsley gave up four runs with six strikeouts over five innings.
