Troy Tulowitzki hit a two-run homer and Esmil Rogers pitched six strong innings as the visiting Colorado Rockies edged the Cincinnati Reds, 3-2, on Tuesday.
Dexter Fowler added an RBI single among two hits for the Rockies, who have won back-to-back games for the first time this month.
Dontrelle Willis (0-2) started for Cincinnati and was again denied his first win despite surrendering just five hits while striking out 10 in eight innings. The veteran lefthander has yielded three earned runs or less in each of his six starts since being recalled on July 10.
Willis tried to help himself in the second inning, reaching Rogers for an RBI triple to give the Reds an early lead.
Tulowitzki, who entered the contest riding a streak of five-straight multi-hit games, managed only one hit against Willis but made it count, lining his 22nd home run over the left field wall in the fourth.
Fowler put the Rockies on top for good in the fifth with his single.
Rogers (6-1) struck out six and scattered eight hits. The righthander is 3-0 with a 2.16 ERA since taking over for Ubaldo Jimenez on July 30. Rafael Betancourt earned his first save with a scoreless ninth.
