Michael Morse and Adam LaRoche hit home runs Sunday to help Washington snap a three-game losing streak with a 6-3 win over Pittsburgh at PNC Park.
Morse hit a three-run homer, his first, with two outs in the third inning, while LaRoche connected for a solo homer, his third, in the fifth inning. Washington accumulated 15 hits, three each by Danny Espinosa and Morse.
Both home runs came off Pittsburgh starter and loser Kevin Correia (3-2), who allowed 11 hits and five runs in 4 2/3 innings. Correia continues to struggle at home and has now allowed 11 runs in 10 2/3 innings at PNC Park.
Washington starter Jason Marquis (2-0) allowed three runs, eight hits and struck out two in six innings. Marquis has not pitched fewer than six innings or allowed more than three runs in any of his four starts. Marquis also got a pair of hits and is hitting .400.
Drew Storen pitched a scoreless ninth inning to earn his third save for the Nationals.
