Jason Bay belted two homers and drove in four runs to lift the visiting New York Mets to a 6-0 victory over the skidding Los Angeles Dodgers on Tuesday night.
Carlos Beltran hit a two-run homer to back six scoreless innings from Mike Pelfrey as the Mets won their third straight and sent Los Angeles to its fourth consecutive defeat.
Pelfrey (5-7) allowed five hits and escaped a pair of bases-loaded jams to post his second win since May 10.
Bay hit a solo home run off Dodgers starter Ted Lilly (5-9) in the sixth and a three-run shot off Blake Hawksworth in the eighth to give him 12 RBIs in his eight-game hitting streak.
Beltran opened the scoring with a two-run blast in the fifth to extend his hitting streak to 10 games.
Lilly allowed three runs on six hits in six innings in losing his fourth straight start for the first time in his career. He has surrendered a team-high 18 homers.
Shortstop Robinson Tejada, playing in place of the injured Jose Reyes, threw out Matt Kemp at the plate in the fourth inning.
