Clayton Kershaw pitched a two-hit shutout, striking out 10, and contributed two hits as the Los Angeles Dodgers rolled over the visiting Florida Marlins 8-0 on Sunday afternoon.
It was the second career shutout and first this season for Kershaw (6-3), who walked just one.
Rafael Furcal led the way for Los Angeles with three hits and three RBIs, including his first home run since July 30, 2010. Jay Gibbons and Andre Ethier also had three hits for the Dodgers, who won two of three in the series.
Furcal broke a scoreless tie with a two-run blast in the third inning. Gibbons and Dioner Navarro added RBI singles later in the frame for a 4-0 lead.
Dodgers manager Don Mattingly and center fielder Matt Kemp were both ejected after the fourth inning by home plate umpire Ron Kulpa for arguing balls and strikes. It was Mattingly’s first as a manager.
Florida starter Ricky Nolasco (4-1) gave up eight runs and 15 hits in five innings.
Marlins shortstop Hanley Ramirez left the game after the first inning with lower-back stiffness.
