Mike Stanton went 3-for-5 with a homer and triple as the visiting Florida Marlins edged the St. Louis Cardinals 6-5 on Monday night.
Stanton's solo shot tied the game 5-5 in the fifth, and he tripled to deep center off Mitchell Boggs (0-2) to lead off the eighth. Stanton scored on Greg Dobbs' sacrifice fly.
Leo Nunez retired Colby Rasmus on a groundout with runners at first and second to earn his 10th save as the surprising Marlins won for the 10th time in 13 games.
Florida went up 4-2 in the third when first baseman Gaby Sanchez cracked a grand slam off Kyle Lohse.
Resurgent Lance Berkman answered in the bottom half when he turned on a Chris Volstad pitch for a three-run homer to right to give St. Louis a 5-4 lead.
The Cardinals took a 2-0 lead in the first on RBI singles by Berkman and Yadier Molina.
