Josh Hamilton's grand slam highlighted Texas' eight-run fourth inning as the Rangers defeated the visiting Cleveland Indians 9-1 on Wednesday.
Texas, which leads Los Angeles by three games in the American League West, is 8-1 against Cleveland this season. The Indians fell to 72-74, the first time they've been two games below .500 since they were 0-2.
The game was scoreless before the Rangers sent 11 men to the plate in the fourth against David Huff (2-5) in their biggest inning of the season. Mike Napoli hit a two-run homer to put Texas ahead.
Texas had six hits in the inning. A two-out fielding error by third baseman Lonnie Chisenhall made five of the runs off Huff unearned.
Ian Kinsler hit a solo homer in the sixth for the Rangers, who have hit seven home runs in the first two games of the series.
Elvis Andrus had a fourth-inning single and has hit safely in all 22 career games against Cleveland. He is batting .388 (33-for-85) lifetime against the Indians.
Adrian Beltre extended his hitting streak to 18 games with a second-inning double.
Derek Holland (14-5) allowed one run in seven innings. Chisenhall hit a solo homer in the fifth.
