David Price allowed two runs in eight innings, and Ben Zobrist and Matt Joyce homered, leading Tampa Bay to an 8-2 victory over Cleveland on Wednesday night, snapping the Indians' 14-game home winning streak.
Zobrist, Sam Fuld and B.J. Upton drove in two runs each for the Rays (21-15), who have the best road record in the American League at 12-5. The loss was the first at home since April 2 for the Indians (23-12).
Price (5-3) didn’t allow a baserunner until Carlos Santana led off the fifth with a double. Cleveland scored two in the eighth on Matt LaPorta's run-scoring double and Michael Brantley’s RBI single.
Price, who carried a shutout into the ninth in his last start, allowed five hits, struck out seven and didn't walk a batter. He was struck on the right wrist by Shelley Duncan's line drive in the sixth.
Cleveland starter Carlos Carrasco (1-2) allowed four runs in five innings in his first start since April 24. He was on the disabled list with a sore right elbow.
Fuld's double in the second gave Tampa Bay a 1-0 lead. He also had an RBI single in the fourth when the Rays scored three times. Tampa Bay added three runs in the seventh and Joyce homered in the ninth.
