Mark Trumbo hit his fourth home run and knocked in four runs as the visiting Los Angeles Angels came from behind to beat the Tampa Bay Rays 8-5 on Friday night.
Bobby Abreu, Howard Kendrick and Alberto Callaspo had three hits apiece, and Erick Aybar added two hits and two RBIs for the Angels (15-11), who snapped the Rays’ five-game win streak.
Ervin Santana (1-3) allowed four hits and four runs - one earned - over six innings for the victory.
Matt Joyce hit a three-run homer - his first of the season - to give the Rays (14-12) a 4-1 lead in the third. Joyce was ejected after striking out looking in the sixth for arguing balls and strikes.
Rays ace David Price (3-3), who had won three straight, gave up 12 hits and five runs in 4 1/3 innings.
Trumbo’s two-run homer to left tied the game 4-4 in the top of the fourth, and Vernon Wells’ sacrifice fly put the Angels in front for good 5-4 in the fifth.
