Rookie Lonnie Chisenhall hit a pair of two-run homers off Mark Buehrle and the Cleveland Indians defeated the host Chicago White Sox 8-4 on Friday.
The loss drops Chicago 9 1/2 games behind Detroit in the American League Central while Cleveland remains 10 out.
The Indians, who snapped a four-game losing streak, are 4-8 against the White Sox this season.
Chisenhall's second home run broke a 2-2 tie and started Cleveland's five-run sixth inning.
Jeanmar Gomez (3-2) allowed two runs in six innings to win his third straight start. Buehrle (11-8) also gave up a homer to Chisenhall in the second.
Buehrle allowed seven runs in 5 2/3 innings. He has lost his last two starts in which he has given up 15 runs and 18 hits in nine innings.
Kosuke Fukudome and Ezequiel Carrera drove in two runs apiece for Cleveland.
Chisenhall's first home run gave Cleveland a 2-0 lead, but Chicago scored twice in the third on Juan Pierre's RBI double and Paul Konerko's sacrifice fly.
