Jeremy Guthrie returned from a bout with shoulder stiffness to pitch seven solid innings and help the Baltimore Orioles to a 6-1 victory over the host Minnesota Twins on Wednesday.

Guthrie (6-16), making his first start in 11 days, gave up one run and five hits as the Orioles beat the Twins for the third straight time to clinch their first series win since June 24-26 against the Reds.

Matt Wieters had a two-run double during a five-run fifth as Baltimore handed Minnesota its fourth straight loss and sixth in seven games.

Baltimore’s Mark Reynolds led off the fifth with a homer against Kevin Slowey (0-2). Nolan Reimold tripled in one run, Ryan Adams doubled in another and Wieters capped the uprising.

Justin Morneau had a run-scoring double in the third for the Twins.

Minnesota All-Star Michael Cuddyer left in the game in the first after being hit on the left wrist by Guthrie.

Slowey allowed five runs and seven hits in 4 2/3 innings.
