Jair Jurrjens carried a no-hitter into the seventh inning and settled for a one-hitter to become the first National League pitcher to reach 11 wins as the host Atlanta Braves defeated the Baltimore Orioles 4-0 on Friday.
Jurrjens (11-3), who allowed a one-out single to Adam Jones, struck out eight en route to winning his third straight decision. It was Jurrjens' first career shutout.
The Braves broke open a scoreless game in the sixth on Jason Heyward's two-run homer to center off Orioles starter Jeremy Guthrie (3-10), who allowed six hits, two runs and struck out six.
Guthrie became the second American League pitcher to reach double-digits in losses this season (Cleveland's Fausto Carmona).
The Braves (48-35) are 13 games above .500 for the first time this season.
