Kevin Youkilis, Adrian Gonzalez and Dustin Pedroia all had three hits, and Andrew Miller pitched six strong innings to lead the Boston Red Sox to a 10-4 win over the host Houston Astros in interleague play Saturday night.
Boston scored three in the first and never looked back en route to its second straight win in the three-game series. Miller (2-0) scattered seven hits and two walks while fanning three.
Darnell McDonald cracked a three-run homer in the eighth, and pinch-hitter Yamaico Navarro hit his first major league homer in the seventh for Boston. Gonzalez had an RBI single in the first, pushing his major league-leading total to 74. Youkilis added two RBIs.
J.A. Happ (3-10) took the loss, allowing five runs on seven hits in 6 2/3 innings. Houston has lost Happ’s last nine starts.
Hunter Pence was 3-for-4 with a home run and two RBIs, and Michael Bourn went 4-for-5 for the Astros.
