Dustin Pedroia fueled a 14-hit barrage as the Red Sox disposed of the Milwaukee Brewers 12-3 Sunday at Fenway Park.
Pedroia had three hits, including a home run, and two RBIs, and Kevin Youkilis also homered for the Red Sox. Youkilis’ three-run homer highlighted a six-run first inning for the Red Sox, who have won 13 of their last 15.
Tim Wakefield (4-2) picked up the win, allowing three runs on three hits in eight innings of work. It was his longest outing since July 2 of last season.
Yovani Gallardo took the loss, surrendering eight runs, five earned, on nine hits in just three innings of work. Gallardo also committed an error that jumpstarted the Red Sox big first inning.
Nyjer Morgan and Prince Fielder hit home runs for the Brewers, who have dropped five of seven.
