Jonathan Sanchez pitched three-hit ball over seven innings and Juan Uribe homered as the San Francisco Giants blanked the host Los Angeles Dodgers 3-0 on Sunday night.
Sanchez (10-8) struck out nine and walked one while beating the Dodgers for the first time in six career decisions to help the Giants move within one game of first-place San Diego in the National League West.
The Giants were nursing a 1-0 lead until Uribe followed Pablo Sandoval’s leadoff single in the seventh by hitting a two-run homer off Hiroki Kuroda.
Sergio Romo struck out two during a perfect eighth and Brian Wilson struck out two in the ninth while recording his 40th save.
San Francisco scored its first run in the second when Sandoval hit a sacrifice fly to plate Buster Posey.
Kuroda (10-12) went eight innings, allowing three runs and six hits. He struck out eight and walked three.
