John Ely pitched seven strong innings and James Loney drove in three runs as the Los Angeles Dodgers posted a 4-2 victory over San Francisco Tuesday night at AT&T Park.
Ely (4-5) snapped a four-game losing streak, allowing one run on five hits in seven innings. Ronald Belisario got the final out for his first save.
Cain (6-7) has lost three consecutive starts and still has not figured out a way to beat the Dodgers, falling to 0-8 against them in 14 career starts. Cain allowed four runs on seven hits in five innings.
Loney had an RBI single in the first and drove in two runs in the fifth. He then scored when Casey Blake, who beat the Giants with a two-run homer Monday night, singled to center.
Pat Burrell homered for the Giants in the ninth.
Dodgers left fielder Manny Ramirez injured his right hamstring running rounding second base and left the game in the first inning. He was replaced in the batting order by Matt Kemp, who sat his third consecutive start. The Dodgers listed Ramirez as day-to-day.
