Michael Bourn homered and drove in two runs in helping the Houston Astros overcome a four-run deficit en route to a 9-5 victory over the Milwaukee Brewers in the opener of a three-game series on Monday.
Hunter Pence and Carlos Lee each had a pair of RBIs as the Astros scored seven runs late to steal the win.
The Brewers built a 4-0 lead with an RBI single from Ryan Braun in the first inning, and an RBI single from Rickie Weeks and a two-run single from Corey Hart in the second.
But Bourn got the Houston offense going with a solo home run in the fourth and Pence scored on a wild pitch later in the inning to pull within 4-2.
After Braun extended the Brewers' lead with a solo home run, Houston tied the game at 5-5 with three runs in the sixth, all on run-producing hits from Bourn and Pence off reliever Todd Coffey (2-2).
In the seventh, the Astros took a 7-5 lead on Pedro Feliz’s RBI double and Jason Bourgeois’s RBI single. They cushioned their lead in the eighth with a two-run double from Lee.
Astros reliever Gustavo Chacin (1-0) earned the victory with a scoreless inning in relief of starter Bud Norris, who went five innings and allowed five runs - four earned - on nine hits.
