Carlos Lee’s two-run homer in the bottom of the ninth capped a three-run inning as the Houston Astros came from behind for a 6-4 victory over the Washington Nationals on Thursday afternoon.
Lee’s two-out blast off closer Matt Capps (0-3) scored Lance Berkman, who had reached on an error that allowed Michael Bourn to score the tying run.
The Astros' rally came after Matt Lindstrom (2-1) blew his third save of the season by allowing a pair of runs in the top of the ninth before ending up with the win.
Willie Harris tripled in a run to even things and Christian Guzman singled to center to score Harris for the 4-3 edge.
Kevin Cash and Berkman each belted solo home runs to help Houston build a 3-0 advantage after three innings in sweeping the three-game set.
The Nationals got single runs in the fourth and sixth innings on singles by Josh Willingham and Roger Bernadina.
Houston starter Brian Moehler allowed a pair of runs on five hits in 5 1/3 innings in the no-decision.
