Troy Tulowitzki kept the Colorado Rockies' playoff hopes alive with four hits and five RBI en route to a 10-9 win in 10 innings over the San Francisco Giants on Saturday.

Carlos Gonzalez started the winning rally with a one-out single off Giants closer Brian Wilson (3-3). With Gonzalez running, Tulowitzki drilled a 2-1 offering into left-center and Gonzalez came all the way around to score, snapping the Rockies' five-game losing streak. Huston Street (4-4) pitched two scoreless innings for the win.

The Giants’ loss dropped them one-half game back of the San Diego Padres for first place in the National League West. Colorado moved to within four games in the West and 3.5 of the wild-card.

After a Friday night’s 2-1 Giants’ win in a game where the clubs combined for five hits – the fewest all-time at Coors Field, this game had 32 hits.

Tulowitzki, who drilled his 15th homer this month during a four-run fourth that provided Colorado a 6-4 edge, greeted Wilson with a two-run, two-out double in the bottom of the eighth inning to tie the game at 9-9. Tulowitzki, who has 40 RBI this month, was 2-for-19 in the first five losses in this streak

After Colorado scored four times in the fifth to take a two-run lead, the first six Giants batters of the sixth reached on hits – five off Esmil Rogers - with the big blow being Cody Ross’ second homer since being acquired from the Marlins, a three-run shot that gave the Giants an 8-6 lead.

Barry Zito was charged with four runs and five hits with three walks and four strikeouts. His effort snapped the Giants unbelievable streak of yielding three runs or fewer in 18 straight games - tied for the third longest streak in major league history and two off the 1917 Chicago White Sox record.

Colorado starter Jason Hammel, who had allowed just three runs in two earlier starts against the Giants, was touched for four runs and eight hits – three homers – in five innings. Freddy Sanchez homered in the first and Andres Torres and Aubrey Huff went deep in the third as San Francisco took a 3-2 lead.
