Reed Johnson hit a two-run homer and Ted Lilly won for the fourth consecutive start with a complete game effort as the Los Angeles Dodgers beat the visiting Colorado Rockies 2-0 on Thursday night.
Johnson’s one-out homer in the second followed a walk to Casey Blake and provided Lilly with all the offense he needed as he improved to 4-0 with Los Angeles since being acquired from the Chicago Cubs.
Lilly (7-8) retired 19 consecutive batters during one stretch and had a season-high 11 strikeouts while pitching his third career shutout.
Lilly gave up two hits – a first-inning double to Dexter Fowler and a seventh-inning single to Troy Tulowitzki. He walked two in his first complete game since 2004.
Ryan Theriot had two of Los Angeles’ five hits.
Rockies starter Jorge De La Rosa (4-4) pitched well, allowing two runs and five hits. De La Rosa struck out three and walked four.
