Andrew McCutchen, Neil Walker and John Bowker each drove in a pair of runs to lead the Pittsburgh Pirates to a 9-6 victory over the Arizona Diamondbacks on Saturday in the second of a three-game series.
McCutchen hit a two-run home run in the third inning, his 15th of the season, to open the scoring and give the Pirates a 2-0 lead.
Arizona scored a run in both the fourth and fifth inning, but Pittsburgh answered each time.
After the Diamondbacks cut the lead to 2-1, the Pirates responded with five runs in the bottom of the fourth. Bowker hit a two-run homer to deep center and added a two-run single to center later in the inning. The homer was Bowker's fourth of the year.
With the lead at 7-2, the Pirates tacked on two more runs in the fifth on a sacrifice fly by Ronny Cedeno and an RBI single by Chris Snyder, who finished with three hits against his old team. Snyder was traded to Pittsburgh from Arizona on July 31.
Ryan Church hit a three-run homer in the seventh for Arizona.
James McDonald (4-5) gave up two runs and four hits in five innings to pick up the win. He walked four and struck out six.
Barry Enright (6-5) took the loss, allowing six runs and six hits, including two home runs, in 3 2/3 innings. Enright has now lost his last three starts, yielding 17 runs and nine home runs in 12 2/3 innings during that span.
