The Arizona Diamondbacks got a sacrifice fly from Augie Ojeda that scored Ryan Roberts for the go-ahead run in the bottom of the eighth inning to help down the Houston Astros, 4-3, on Friday night.
Arizona’s Daniel Hudson went six innings, giving up two runs on seven hits while striking out seven but didn’t factor in the decision. Aaron Heilman (5-5) worked an inning of relief to pick up his fifth win while Juan Gutierrez came on to work the ninth and record his seventh save of the year.
Wilton Lopez (5-1) gave up the run in the eighth to pick up the loss.
Adam LaRouche had two hits and a pair of RBIs for the Diamondbacks while Stephen Drew had a hit, two walks and scored two runs as Arizona won for the seventh time in eight games.
Houston shortstop Angel Sanchez had two hits, an RBI and a run scored while Hunter Pence added a pair of hits to continue his hot streak. Pence came into this game hitting .348 since July 21.
Brett Myers was solid for Houston, allowing three runs over six innings, striking out four and walking three.
