Derek Lee snapped a tie with a two-run single in the eighth inning to lead the Chicago Cubs past the Arizona Diamondbacks, 7-5, on Saturday.
Alfonso Soriano forged a 5-5 draw in the seventh with his fourth homer of the year - a two-run bomb off Bobby Howry - for the Cubs, who got two hits apiece from Marlon Byrd, Kosuke Fukudome, Ryan Theriot, Soriano and Lee.
With the bases loaded in the eighth, Lee followed back-to-back walks to Theriot and Fukudome with a single to shallow left off Juan Gutierrez (0-3), scoring rookie Tyler Colvin and Theriot to put Chicago in front.
Sean Marshall (1-1) worked two scoreless innings of relief for the win.
Carlos Marmol struck out the side in a scoreless ninth to earn his fourth save. The right-hander has set down 25 on strikes in 12 1/3 innings this season.
Mark Reynolds homered twice for the Diamondbacks to bring his season total to nine - tied for the National League lead with teammate Kelly Johnson. Justin Upton added his fourth blast of the season and Gerardo Parra had two hits for Arizona, which squandered a chance to .500.
