The Arizona Diamondbacks offense continued its recent tear with an 8-5 win Saturday over the Toronto Blue Jays at Chase Field to extend their season-best winning streak to four.

The Diamondbacks scored four runs in each of the first two innings to chase Toronto starter Dana Eveland after just 1 1/3 innings.

Eveland fell to 3-4 on the season after allowing eight hits, two walks and eight earned runs with just one strikeout against his former team.

The early scoring barrage came courtesy of Adam LaRoche with two RBI singles and Chris Young who drove in four runs on two hits. Arizona has scored 36 runs over the last four games.

The Diamondbacks had lost six straight at Chase Field before this win streak, but remain undefeated on the current home stand.

The benefactor was starter Edwin Jackson, who allowed one earned run in the first seven innings but struggled in the eighth as he won his second straight start to improve to 3-5.

The right-hander allowed six hits, five earned runs with no walks and nine strikeouts in 7 2/3 innings.

Closer Chad Qualls finished the ninth for his ninth save.

Toronto third baseman Edwin Encarnacion hit his fourth home run – a three-run shot – of the series off Jackson and second basemen Aaron Hill added a solo shot in the eighth to chase Jackson.
