Alfonso Soriano homered for the second straight game and the Chicago Cubs posted a 5-4 victory over the Texas Rangers on Sunday in the rubber-game of their interleague series.

Soriano had gone 15 games without going deep before hitting a home run in Saturday's game. He struck again Sunday, hitting a two-run shot off of Rangers starter C.J. Wilson in the first inning to stake the Cubs to a 4-0 lead.

Koyie Hill had an RBI single in the sixth to give the Cubs a 5-3 edge and that run proved to be the difference.

Michael Young hit a two-run shot in the third for Texas and pulled the Rangers within 5-4 with an RBI double in the seventh but it was not enough to keep the Rangers from dropping their second straight at home after reeling off seven consecutive victories in Arlington.

Carlos Silva (6-0) earned the win, yielding three runs and six hits in 5 1/3 innings. Carlos Marmol picked up his ninth save of the season by striking out the side in the ninth, including Vladimir Guerrero looking to end the game.

Wilson (3-2) took the loss, allowing five runs and seven hits in 5 2/3 innings.
