The Texas Rangers put on a hitting display Wednesday night, pounding out 14 hits en route to a 12-2 victory over the Seattle Mariners.
Josh Hamilton homered and drove in three runs, Michael Young belted a homer and drove in two runs and Vladimir Guerrero finished with three hits and a pair of RBIs to lead the charge.
In the bottom of the first, Texas tied the game on a solo home run from Young and an RBI double from Guerrero.
The Rangers then blew the game open in the second with six runs, highlighted by a two-run homer from Hamilton. Young, Guerrero and Ian Kinsler also had RBI hits in the inning.
Mariners starter Ian Snell (0-5) took another loss and has yet to win this season as he lasted only 1 2/3 innings, allowing eight runs - seven earned - on eight hits with a walk and a strikeout.
Texas extended its lead in the fourth with RBI singles from Hamilton and David Murphy. Elvis Andrus and Julio Borbon each recorded RBIs later in the game.
C.J. Wilson (5-3) got the victory after going seven innings, allowing two runs on four hits with three walks and four strikeouts.
Seattle jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first with RBI doubles from Jose Lopez and Josh Wilson, but that lead didn’t last long.
