James Loney had four RBIs and Los Angeles won an interleague game for just the fourth time this season as the host Dodgers defeated the New York Yankees 9-4 on Saturday.
Loney had a first-inning sacrifice fly, a two-run single in the third and a run-scoring single in the fourth as Los Angeles improved to 4-10 against American League teams this year.
Casey Blake followed Loney’s fourth-inning single with an RBI-double to give Los Angeles a 7-4 lead.
The victory was only the second in the last nine games for the Dodgers.
Rafael Furcal went 3-for-5 and scored three runs for the Dodgers. Manny Ramirez reached base four times on a double and three walks.
The Dodgers jumped all over Yankees starter A.J. Burnett, who lost for the fifth straight time. Burnett (6-7) gave up six runs and six hits and walked six in three-plus innings.
Los Angeles starter Hiroki Kuroda (7-5) allowed four runs and seven hits in 5 1/3 innings.
Kuroda served up a three-run homer in the first inning to New York’s Mark Teixeira.
