Bobby Abreu and Mike Napoli hit two-run homers while Ervin Santana pitched six strong innings, leading the Los Angeles Angels to a 7-4 win over the Oakland Athletics on Sunday.
Abreu and Napoli both went deep in the third inning and Abreu added an RBI single in the seventh, helping the Angels avoid a three-game sweep.
Santana (15-9) allowed three runs (two earned) and six hits, striking out three and walking four. Santana moved within one win of his career high in victories. He won 16 games in 2006 and 2008.
Both home runs came off Vin Mazzaro (6-8), who gave up five runs and six hits. He hasn't won since July 24 and fell to 0-6 in his last eight starts.
The homers by Abreu and Napoli woke up the Angels' offense, which had scored one run in the first 20 innings of the series.
Landon Powell's RBI single scored Oakland's first run in the third. Jeff Larish added a two-run double in the fourth.
Tori Hunter had an RBI double in the fifth before Abreu and Hideki Matsui drove in runs with singles in the seventh.
