C.J. Wilson threw 7 2/3 scoreless innings and Bengie Molina and Elvis Andrus had RBI singles as the Texas Rangers went on to a 3-0 victory over the Kansas City Royals on Monday night.
The Rangers took an early 1-0 lead in the second inning as Molina singled to right to score Nelson Cruz. In the fifth, Andrus singled to right to bring home Andres Blanco.
Michael Young cushioned the Rangers’ lead with a sacrifice fly in the ninth.
That proved to be enough for Wilson, who has not lost since the All-Star break. Wilson (14-5) allowed only two hits with four walks and six strikeouts.
His only real trouble came in the second inning, when he struck out Royals No. 9 hitter Jai Miller with the bases loaded and two outs.
