The Cleveland Indians pounded three home runs in the bottom of the fifth inning on their way to a 6-3 comeback win over the Detroit Tigers on Monday.
Detroit got an RBI single from Jhonny Peralta in the third inning and another from Austin Jackson in the fourth before the Indians erupted in the fifth.
Matt LaPorta and Luke Carlin hit solo homers and Travis Hafner added a three-run shot off losing pitcher Armando Galarraga (5-7). Asdrubal Cabrera added an RBI double in the seventh.
Cleveland starter Carlos Carrasco (2-1) gave up three runs on 11 hits over six innings, striking out five and walking one. Chris Perez worked the ninth for his 22nd save of the year.
Galarraga dropped his third straight start, allowing five runs while walking four.
Four Tigers had a pair of hits and the club finished with 13 on the night, but went just 3-for-14 with runners in scoring position.
