Andruw Jones and Alex Rios hit two-run homers and had three RBIs apiece to lead the Chicago White Sox to a 9-2 win over the Kansas City Royals on Wednesday night.
Jones' blast - his ninth on the season - highlighted a four-run first inning against Brian Bannister (1-2), who was rocked for seven run in three innings.
Rios' fourth homer came off Brad Thompson in the sixth for the White Sox, who took two of three in the series.
Freddy Garcia (1-2) held the Royals to two runs in six innings, scattering 10 hits with no walks.
Following Jones' home run, RBI singles by Carlos Quentin and Mark Teahen completed the big first inning.
Paul Konerko's RBI double in the second made it 5-0. The Sox added two in the fourth and chased Bannister, who left with the bases loaded without retiring a batter in the inning. Jones drew a bases-loaded walk off Bruce Chen and Rios hit a sacrifice fly.
Kansas City scored in the fifth on Chris Getz's RBI single and in the sixth on Alberto Callapso's single.
