Matt Treanor homered and drove in three runs in leading the Texas Rangers to a 4-2 victory over the Chicago White Sox on Tuesday night.
Treanor gave Texas an early lead with his solo home run in the second inning. In the fourth, he ripped a two-run double that put the Rangers ahead, 3-0.
The lead was big enough for Texas starter C.J. Wilson (2-1), who went six innings and allowed two earned runs on five hits with five strikeouts.
Rangers reliever Dustin Nippert threw two scoreless innings and, for the first time this season, Frank Francisco earned a save with a perfect ninth inning.
Alexei Ramirez singled in a run in the sixth for Chicago to cut the lead to 3-2.
White Sox starter Mark Buehrle (2-3) took the loss after allowing four earned runs on seven hits with a walk over seven innings.
