Buchholz (10-4) tied for the American League lead in victories. He allowed three hits in 6 2/3 innings.
Daniel Bard got the final out of the seventh inning with two men on base and Jonathan Papelbon pitched a perfect ninth for his 16th save.

The Red Sox opened the scoring in the first on an infield hit by Kevin Youkilis that scored Dustin Pedroia (three hits) from third base.
They made it 2-0 in the third when David Ortiz’s sacrifice fly scored Marco Scutaro, who led off the inning with a single.
Hiroki Kuroda (6-5) pitched well for the Dodgers, allowing six hits and two runs in seven innings while striking out nine.
