Dustin Pedroia’s single with two outs in the bottom of the ninth inning gave the Boston Red Sox a 5-4 victory over the Los Angeles Dodgers in an interleague game on Saturday.
The Red Sox have won five straight and will cap off a 7-1 homestand Sunday. They’ve also gone 8-0-3 in their last 11 series.
Bill Hall opened the ninth with a single off loser Ronald Belasario (1-1) to start the winning rally. Daniel Nava tried to bunt Hall along but Hall was forced out at second and Nava reached first base just ahead of the relay throw.
After a strikeout, Marco Scutaro walked and Jonathan Broxton replaced Belasario but Pedroia singled to right field to score Nava with the game-winner.
Jonathan Papelbon (2-3) pitched a scoreless ninth to notch the win.
Manny Ramirez had two hits, including a homer, and Garret Anderson finished with three of the Dodgers’ six hits.
Victor Martinez had a two-run homer for Boston and Kevin Youkilis added a solo shot.
