Jose Bautista hit his 51st and 52nd home runs of the season to pace the Toronto Blue Jays to a 6-4 win over the Baltimore Orioles.
Bautista, who became the 26th player in major league history to hit 50 home runs on Thursday, knocked in three runs to up his RBI total to 118. Vernon Wells drove in a pair of runs with his 30th homer of the year.
The Blue Jays had just five hits on the evening.
Toronto starter Brett Cecil (14-7) gave up 11 hits over 6 1/3 innings, but only allowed one earned run while striking out four.
Chris Tillman (1-5) pitched well for the Orioles despite giving up the three home runs. He went six innings and struck out three while walking one in taking the loss.
Baltimore made it close with two runs in the seventh and another in the ninth off Jays closer Kevin Gregg, but Jesse Carlson came on to record the game’s final out and pick up his first save. Nick Markakis finished with 3-for-4 at the plate while Ty Wigginton and Nolan Reimold also had three hits for the Orioles.
Baltimore had 16 hits but was 5-for-15 with runners in scoring position and stranded 12.
