Jose Reyes and Jeff Francoeur hit home runs, and Hisanori Takahashi turned in the third consecutive stellar outing by a New York Mets starter to pace a 3-1 victory over the Baltimore Orioles on Saturday at Camden Yards.
Takahashi (5-2) held the Orioles to one run on six hits over seven innings. In the past three games, the Mets' starters have allowed a total of two runs in 23 innings.
Reyes led off the game with his third homer of the season, and Nick Markakis tied it with an RBI double in the bottom of the first. The Mets regained the lead on David Wright's RBI fielder's choice in the sixth, and Francoeur added his seventh homer, a leadoff shot in the eighth off Orioles starter Brian Matusz.
Matusz (2-7) gave up three runs on five hits over eight innings. The 23-year-old left-hander has lost seven consecutive decisions.
Francisco Rodriguez pitched a scoreless ninth for his 13th save in 16 opportunities.
The Mets have won seven of eight, including two in a row on the road for the first time since last July 25-26 at Houston.
