Blues 6, Islanders 4: Paul Stastny scored his second goal with 6:34 remaining in the third period to snap a tie as St. Louis ended New York's seven-game home winning streak.

Defenseman Kevin Shattenkirk netted a power-play goal and assisted on man-advantage tallies by T.J. Oshie and Stastny for the Blues, who snapped a modest two-game skid overall by winning their fourth straight versus the Islanders. Vladimir Tarasenko scored his team-leading 17th goal and fifth in five contests, Patrik Berglund also tallied and Martin Brodeur stopped 14 shots in relief of Jake Allen, who yielded three goals on 12 shots in the first period.

Captain John Tavares and Frans Nielsen each scored a power-play goal while Ryan Strome and Michael Grabner also tallied for New York, which saw its three-game winning streak end and fell for the third time in 16 contests. Defenseman Nick Leddy and Kyle Okposo notched two assists apiece and former Blue Jaroslav Halak made 34 saves as his club-record 11-game winning streak came to a halt.

Joakim Lindstrom (three assists) gained a step on Nielsen along the left-wing boards before wiring a pass to the right doorstep for Stastny, who made no mistake to give the Blues a 5-4 lead. Tarasenko capped the scoring frenzy by converting from a sharp-angle deep within the right faceoff circle with 2:28 remaining.

St. Louis erased a 3-0 deficit in short order as Stastny converted Shattenkirk's slap pass 2:36 into the second period, Berglund made a waist-high deflection of blue-liner Chris Butler's shot 52 seconds later and Shattenkirk buried a blast from the point at 12:34. Tavares reeled in Okposo's centering feed and backhanded the puck past Brodeur with 54 seconds remaining in the session to give New York a 4-3 edge, but Oshie answered 4:51 into the third with a sharp wrist shot from above the left circle.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Nielsen tapped home Okposo's no-look feed 7:57 into the contest to open the scoring. The Islanders pushed their lead to 3-0 lead late in the first period as Strome converted a turnover with a blast from the point with 1:59 remaining before Grabner poked home a rebound 98 seconds later for his first goal of the season. ... Shattenkirk registered a game-high eight shots on goal. ... Blues LW Alex Steen took part in pregame warmups but was a late scratch with a lower-body issue.
