Keegan Murray poured in 28 points and No. 25 Iowa won for the fifth time in six games, pounding slumping Michigan State 86-60 on Tuesday in Iowa City.

Murray shot 10-for-15 for Iowa, which seized the lead less than three minutes into the game and never relinquished it. Jordan Bohannon had 11 points for the Hawkeyes (19-8, 9-7 Big Ten) and Kris Murray matched that, with all of his points coming in the second half.

Malik Hall's 17 points topped the Spartans (18-9, 9-7), who have lost three straight and five of their past six. Julius Marble contributed nine points and eight rebounds, and Tyson Walker had nine points and five assists.

Iowa shot 43.1 percent from the field and made 18 of 20 free throws. The Spartans shot 35.2 percent from the floor and attempted just four free throws, sinking two.

Keegan Murray pumped in 18 points as the Hawkeyes raced to a 46-32 halftime lead. The Hawkeyes shot 50 percent and committed just three turnovers before the break.

Iowa had an early 10-0 run, including two baskets each from Keegan Murray and Tony Perkins, to take a 14-4 lead. A 15-4 spurt midway through the half gave Iowa a 32-17 advantage. Murray and Payton Sandfort scored five points apiece during that run.

A 3-pointer by Iowa's Patrick McCaffrey with 1:46 left proved to be the final points of the half.

Michigan State coach Tom Izzo was assessed a technical foul for arguing a no-call with 15:49 remaining in the game. Bohannon made both free throws to give his team a 52-39 lead. Keegan Murray followed with a three-point play for a 16-point advantage.

After the Spartans crept within 11 points, Bohannon knocked down 3-pointers on back-to-back possessions for a 61-44 lead.

Murray made a jumper seconds later to give the Hawkeyes a 19-point lead with 12:27 to go.

Kris Murray, Keegan's twin brother, then got into the act. He fired in two 3-pointers to make it 69-49 with 10:56 left.
