Francisco Lindor hit a go-ahead, two-run home run in the seventh inning, Harrison Bader had four hits and the visiting New York Mets increased their winning streak to five games with a 9-4 victory against the Los Angeles Dodgers on Friday.

DJ Stewart homered and had three RBIs as the Mets won for the seventh time in eight games and improved to 11-3 since an 0-5 start.

Chris Taylor broke out of an 0-for-31 slump to deliver a two-run single for the Dodgers. Shohei Ohtani scored a run and drove in another, but Los Angeles lost for the sixth time in the past eight games.

The contest was the opener of a three-game series.

After squandering a 4-0 lead, New York went back on top 6-4 in the seventh on Lindor's two-run home run off right-hander Daniel Hudson (1-1), his second. Starling Marte hit a two-run single in the eighth, and Stewart drove in another run with a ninth-inning single.

Mets starter Sean Manaea gave up two runs on four hits over five innings, with three strikeouts and three walks. Reed Garrett (3-0) gave up two runs, both unearned, in his lone inning and picked up the win.

The Mets took a 2-0 lead in the second inning on Stewart's home run off Yoshinobu Yamamoto, his third, and an RBI single from Bader. New York increased the lead to 4-0 in the third on an RBI single from Pete Alonso and a sacrifice fly from Stewart.

Yamamoto settled in from there to last six innings for the first time in his MLB career. He struck out nine, walked one and allowed four runs (three earned) on seven hits.

The Dodgers began a comeback in the fourth inning, cutting the deficit to 4-1 when Ohtani walked, stole second with two outs and scored on a Teoscar Hernandez single.

Los Angeles added another run in the fifth on an RBI single from Ohtani. It was just his second hit in 20 at-bats with a runner in scoring position.

The Dodgers tied it 4-4 in the sixth when Taylor delivered a two-run single to end his drought.
