Defenseman Shea Weber scored twice in the final 4:24 to lift the Nashville Predators to a 4-3 victory over the visiting Detroit Red Wings on Thursday.

Jordin Tootoo added a goal and an assist and Pekka Rinne stopped 37 shots for the Predators, who extended their season-high winning streak to four games.

Weber picked up his eighth tally and the game-winner with 1:36 left. After Jimmy Howard failed to clear a puck from behind the net, Weber took it from above the right point and fired a shot into traffic. Nick Spaling provided just enough of a distraction to sneak it past.

Nashville knotted it at 3-3 with 4:24 left in regulation. On the power play, the Predators worked it around to Weber above the left circle. The veteran defenseman sent a slap shot through traffic and past a screened Howard.

The Red Wings took a 3-1 lead with a pair of goals 1:27 apart in the second period but the Predators fought back, cutting it to 3-2 before the end of the second when Tootoo took a long rebound in the right slot and wristed it into the open net.

Detroit, which had its three-game winning streak come to an end, outshot the Predators 40-21.
