Chris Higgins tipped in the game-winner at the 2:18 mark of overtime to lift the Vancouver Canucks to a 2-1 victory over the visiting Ottawa Senators on Sunday.
Henrik Sedin added a power-play goal and Cory Schneider made 28 saves for the Canucks (10-9-2), who moved back above .500.
Dan Hamhuis set up the final goal when he got the puck on the left point and fired a slap shot into traffic in front of the net. Higgins set his stick down in front and deflected the puck past Alex Auld for his seventh goal.
The Senators had a three-game winning streak come to an end.
Vancouver took the lead on a power play in the second period. Henrik Sedin hung back on the rush and took a feed in the high slot from Daniel Sedin. Henrik wound up and slapped in his seventh goal for a 1-0 advantage.
It was the league-leading 18th assist for Daniel Sedin, snapping a tie with Ottawa defenseman Erik Karlsson.
The Senators tied it at the 3:32 mark of the third, when Colin Greening took a centering pass from Jason Spezza and tipped his sixth goal past Schneider.
