Johan Frazen scored the game-winning goal 45 seconds into overtime and Joey MacDonald made 25 saves to lead the Detroit Red Wings to a 6-5 win over the visiting Columbus Blue Jackets on Saturday.
Drew Miller scored a goal and added two assists and Valtteri Filppula, Jonathan Ericsson, defenseman Brian Rafalski and Kris Draper also scored for Detroit.
Franzen ripped a wrist shot past Steve Mason from the top of the circle for the win after captain Rick Nash tied the game with 1:04 left in regulation.
Derick Brassard opened the scoring just 33 seconds into the game with his 10th goal of the year and defenseman Grant Clitsome fired his second goal in as many nights less than four minutes later.
Filppula cut the lead at the 17:34 mark and Miller scored his third of the season with 40 seconds left in the first period.
After the intermission, Matt Calvert scored his second of the campaign at 2:27 before Ericsson answered one minute later with his third of the season. Rafalski beat MacDonald with a wrist shot at 8:02 to send Detroit into the third with its first lead of the night.
R.J. Umberger tied the game early in the third on the power play, but Draper replied with his fourth of the season by tapping a rebound past Mason. Nash scored late to send the game to overtime.
Mason finished with 28 saves.
