Nebraska 79, Wake Forest 63: Ray Gallegos scored 17 of his 20 points in the second half as the visiting Cornhuskers dominated after the break and cruised past the Demon Deacons in the ACC/Big Ten Challenge.
Andre Almeida scored 20 points on 9-for-10 shooting and added 11 rebounds and three blocks for Nebraska (5-1), which shot 60 percent in the second half.
Codi Miller-McIntyre was the only player to reach double figures for Wake Forest (3-3) with 11 points. Stars Travis McKie and C.J. Harris combined for 10 points on 3-for-17 shooting.
The Demon Deacons trailed by four at the half and were still within 42-37 with 14:09 left when the Cornhuskers began to pull away. Gallegos hit a pair of 3-pointers and totaled 12 points during a 20-3 burst over the next 6:04.
Almeida scored six straight points to stretch it to 68-44 with 5:13 left before Nebraska took its foot off the gas.
GAME NOTEBOOK: The Cornhuskers got some revenge for last season’s meeting, when Harris’ layup with 3.6 seconds left gave Wake Forest a 55-53 victory. … The Demon Deacons shot 3-of-16 from 3-point range. … Nebraska leading scorer Dylan Talley finished with 14 points on 4-for-16 shooting.
