Thunder 112, Pistons 111: Kevin Durant scored 21 of his 42 points in the fourth quarter, including the game-winning dunk with 16.5 seconds left, as host Oklahoma City wrapped up the No. 2 seed in the Western Conference playoffs by rallying to win its 10th straight game over Detroit.
Russell Westbrook recorded 22 points, eight assists, six steals and six rebounds for the Thunder (59-23), who meet No. 7 seed Memphis in the first round. Serge Ibaka contributed 10 points, 15 rebounds and six blocks while Reggie Jackson scored 13 of his 15 points off the bench in the first half for Oklahoma City.
Rookie Kentavious Caldwell-Pope scored a season-high 30 points while Greg Monroe added 22 points, nine assists and eight rebounds as the Pistons (29-53) failed to reach the playoffs for the fifth consecutive season. Andre Drummond had 22 points and 13 rebounds while Kyle Singler scored 20 points for Detroit.
Caldwell-Pope reached his career high in the first half with 20 points - eight during an 11-3 run which vaulted the Pistons into a 48-37 lead with 4:52 left in the first half. Durant and Westbrook scored seven points apiece in final 4:39 of the second quarter to help the Thunder trim the deficit to 55-54 at intermission.
Detroit closed the third quarter with a 15-7 run to take an 87-79 lead and were in front 109-102 after Monroe's bucket with 3:16 to play. Oklahoma City closed to 111-110 on two Westbrook free throws with 1:06 remaining and Monroe turned it over with 18.9 seconds left before Durant's winning basket.
GAME NOTEBOOK: Durant wrapped up his fourth scoring title in the last five seasons with an average of 32 points - the highest of his career. ... The Pistons finished first in the NBA in offensive rebounds at 14.6 per game and points in the paint 51.9. ... Drummond wound up second to the Los Angeles Clippers' DeAndre Jordan in rebounding with an average of 13.2, and his 440 offensive rebounds were the most since New Jersey's Jayson Williams grabbed 443 in 1997-98.
