Thunder 111, Spurs 105: Kevin Durant scored 36 points for his ninth straight outing of 30 or more as visiting Oklahoma City defeated San Antonio to surpass the Spurs for possession of the best record in the Western Conference.
Reggie Jackson tied his career high with 27 points on 12-of-17 shooting as the Thunder (33-10) defeated San Antonio for the third straight time this season. Serge Ibaka contributed 14 points, nine rebounds and five blocked shots as Oklahoma City won its fifth consecutive game.
Tony Parker scored a season-high 37 points for the Spurs (32-10), who lost for just the second time in nine games. Tim Duncan added 14 points and 13 rebounds and Boris Diaw scored 14 points off the bench.
Jackson scored 11 consecutive Oklahoma City points as the Thunder took a 94-89 lead with 7:15 left in the game. Durant drained two 3-pointers 52 seconds apart as Oklahoma City used an 8-2 burst for a 108-98 lead with 1:07 to play and San Antonio trailed by at least five the rest of the way.
Durant had 17 first-half points as Oklahoma City took a 55-53 lead into the break. The Spurs led by as many as six in the early portion of the third quarter before Durant’s 10-point period helped the Thunder take a 76-75 lead into the final stanza.
GAME NOTEBOOK: Durant, who committed 11 of Oklahoma City’s 15 turnovers, is averaging 38.9 points over the last nine games. … The Spurs lost starting F Kawhi Leonard to a broken finger on his right hand in the second quarter and were also without C Tiago Splitter (shoulder) for the eighth straight game and G Danny Green (broken finger) for the fifth consecutive outing. … The Thunder were 10-of-18 from 3-point range with Jackson and G Derek Fisher each making three.
