Heat 98, 76ers 94: LeBron James led the way with 27 points, eight assists and seven rebounds as visiting Miami knocked off Philadelphia to push its winning streak to 20 straight games.
Dwyane Wade added 21 points and Ray Allen scored 12 for the Heat, who became the fourth team in NBA history to win 20 straight in a single season. Miami has beaten Philadelphia three times during the streak.
Thaddeus Young had 24 points and 15 rebounds and Jrue Holiday scored 21 points as the 76ers fell for the 13th time in its last 15 games.
The Heat held an 80-70 lead after Wade’s free throws with 8:56 left but let the 76ers back into the game over the next few minutes. Holiday’s 3-pointer with 5:31 left gave Philadelphia an 83-82 edge and Evan Turner’s layup just under a minute later capped a 15-2 burst.
Bosh snapped a drought of over three minutes to get Miami back on the board and James’ free throw with 1:12 left put the Heat up 92-91. Wade tipped in James’ miss to make it a three-point edge with 29.4 seconds to play before he and James sealed it at the line.
GAME NOTEBOOK: Miami is tied with the 1970-71 Milwaukee Bucks for third all-time and need two more wins to match the 2008 Houston Rockets for second-longest streak. … Wade went 7-of-14 from the field and has scored at least 20 points on at least 50 percent shooting in 11 straight games. … Young’s double-double was his third straight and fifth in eight games this month.
