Thunder 97, Suns 69: Russell Westbrook scored 24 points and Thabo Sefolosha tallied a season-high 20 as visiting Oklahoma City routed Phoenix for the second consecutive game.
Kevin Durant added 18 points as the Thunder followed up a 31-point victory over the Suns on Friday with another dismantling of Phoenix. Oklahoma City has won 10 straight meetings against the Suns.
Markieff Morris scored 12 points for Phoenix, which committed a season-worst 23 turnovers and shot 33 percent from the field. The Suns are 4-7 under interim coach Lindsey Hunter.
Oklahoma City led by 11 points after one quarter before Phoenix pulled within three on P.J. Tucker’s basket with 4:39 left in the first half. The Thunder kicked it in gear with a quarter-closing 16-2 surge to take a 51-34 edge at the break.
The lead expanded to 74-48 after three quarters and eventually reached 35 on a basket by Perry Jones with 8:43 remaining as the Thunder wrapped up their fourth straight victory. Wesley Johnson’s putback dunk with 7.2 seconds left prevented Phoenix from setting a franchise low for points in a game.
GAME NOTEBOOK: Oklahoma City swept the four-game series with Phoenix, winning by an average of 22.3 points. … Phoenix’s starters were outscored 74-26 by the Thunder starting five. … Sefolosha’s previous season high of 18 came in Friday’s game against the Suns.
