: Brandon Knight had 20 points and 10 assists as host Detroit won its first game since trading away longtime starter Tayshaun Prince.

Kyle Singler scored a career-high 20 points and Greg Monroe had 18 and 16 rebounds for the Pistons, who shot 54.2 percent from the field. Rodney Stuckey scored 10 of his 14 points in a critical third-quarter surge.

Tristan Thompson scored 19 points on 9-of-11 shooting and All-Star Kyrie Irving added 14 to lead Cleveland. The other three Cavaliers starters combined to go 4-for-19 from the floor.

Detroit led 64-57 midway through the third quarter when Stuckey got hot. He needed just 2:10 to score 10 straight Pistons points and Knight and Monroe then teamed on a quick 7-0 lead that pushed the advantage to 81-64.

Marreese Speights, who had 17 points off the bench, helped the Cavaliers get as close as nine points in the fourth quarter. A Knight-to-Singler alley-oop with 4:03 left made it 103-90 and helped wrap up Detroit's fifth straight win over Cleveland.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Prince and fellow F Austin Daye were shipped to Memphis on Wednesday as part of a three-team deal that brought Toronto G Jose Calderon to Detroit. Calderon was still working through visa issues and unavailable for the Pistons on Friday. ... Detroit has made just 35 of its 70 free throws over the last two games. ... Cleveland's bench (54 points) outscored its starters (45 points).
